Winery:Moet & Chandon Region: Champagne Variety: Pinot Meunier Pinot Noir Chardonnay Vintage: 2003 Your Wine Guy says: Moet’s world-class reputation was built upon their vintage expressions such as this.A rich gold in the glass with a fine bead. The nose shows seductive notes of honey, biscuit and shortbread. The palate has a delicate texture and very well balanced acidity, great length too. 94 Points YWG The winemaker says: After hand-picking, the grapes were pressed very gently - only the best juice from the first pressing was used. Grapes from different 'crus' were pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks separately to imbue complexity to the final blend. After malolactic fermentation, the vats were blended and bottled to undergo secondary fermentation. Aged for 4-5 years on the lees before disgorging. Winery/Label Information: This is the sixty-eighth release of Moet & Chandon Vintage Champagne since the launch of the first vintage in 1842. It is only produced in exceptional vintages. This year’s release has a higher than normal Pinot Meunier component with the final blend composed of 43% Pinot Meunier, 29% Pinot Noir and 28% Chardonnay. The 2003 vintage has been released ahead of the 2002 vintage because it was felt that the 2002 needed more time in the bottle to develop. - Moet & Chandon Good white creamy mousse with exceptionally fine bead and persistence. Pale straw colour base wine. Aromas of yeast lees, toast, biscuit and baked bread – classic Champagne aromas. The palate is lighter than expected with delicate flavours of biscuit, lemon, cashew, yeast lees and toast. Refined with good palate length but not exceptional. Creamy texture with aftertaste of baked bread, biscuit, citrus and hazelnut. Cellar 4-5 years (2013-2014) 12.5% Alc
