Winery: Sandalford Region: Margaret River Variety: Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon Your Wine Guy says: Great intensity of gooseberry and lime, citrus on the nose. The palate also has a superb intensity. Lots of herbal notes with tropical fruits with a fine finish of acid and citrus. Very easy to drink. 93 Points YWG Critics say: Deliciously vibrant, lively and fresh; lemon/citrus/mineral notes interwoven on bouquet and palate, then a bright, fresh finish with a farewell of passion fruit. Screwcap. 13% alc. 91 Points James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2010 The winemaker says: Colour: Very pale lime as one would expect from a fresh new vintage of white wine. Nose: Supremely aromatic with lifted notes of nettle and box wood. Underneath lurks a touch of fresh grapefruit hinting at the Semillon portion of the blend. Palate: Cracking herbal notes with some punchy gooseberry and fine nettle flavours giving complexity and length to the palate. Fine acid balance again highlights the strength of the vintage making this wine one not to disappoint. – Paul Boulden, Winemaker Sandalford Wines Winery/Label Information: Blends of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon are a regional specialty of Margaret River unmatched by any other regions within Australia or New Zealand. The Sauvignon gives lovely lifted perfume and herbaceous characters whilst the Semillon gives citrus rind and depth to the palate. A match made in heaven.
