Winery:Henschke Region: Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills Variety: Semillon 40%, Sauvignon blanc 26%, Chardonnay 25% and Pinot Gris 9% Your Wine Guy says: The Tilly’s Vineyard is a fine example of the strength and quality of vineyards that Henschke has access to, as there is good intensity of fruit from what was a very difficult vintage in South Australia. The colour is a light gold with pale green edges, the nose attracts with floral rich melon fruits, lemon and pears and some tropical fruits. With a crisp citrus palate supported by well balanced acidity, a small proportion of the chardonnay gets a little barrel fermentation with no ‘malo’ ferment giving you a more complex finish. Very tasty and easy to drink now, Henschke suggest it can be cellared until 2018. 91 Points YWG Critics say: The winemaker says: Colour: Pale straw in colour with lime hues. Nose: The nose exhibits fresh, lifted aromas of citrus zest and white currant with pungent gooseberry notes. Palate: A clean, fresh palate of sweet fruit, citrus and herbaceous flavours with good depth and length, finishing crisp. Excellent vintage, drink now to 2018. – Henschke Wines Winery/Label Information: This crisp aromatic blend is named in tribute to great-aunt Ottilie Mathilde ‘Tilly’ Henschke, one of the remarkable pioneers from the era that saw vineyards flourish across South Australia. – Henschke Wines
