Winery: Leo Buring
Region: Eden Valley
Variety: Riesling

Your Wine Guy says:
We have always thought Leo Buring Rieslings massively over-deliver with incredibly good value in both the flavour stakes, providing classic steely lime intensity aromas and flavours against a nearly unparalleled balance of naturally high acidity, as well as a cellaring potential (some Leo Buring Rieslings can live 20-30 years or more) rivalling the reach of many of Australia’s top red wines.
93 Points YWG Drink to 2018

Critics say:
A more fragrant and expressive bouquet than the Clare Valley sister wine, the lime-accented palate logically following on; fine, crisp and long, great now or way down the track thanks to perfect acidity. Screwcap. 12% alc.
94 Points Drink 2020 James Halliday Australian Wine Companion

A lean, racy Riesling scented with lavender, iris, lime juice and chalk, with undertones of lemon candy. It's long and vibrant, with a piercingly intense and moderately juicy palate underpinned by fine-ground dusty phenolics and wound in around a bracingly dry finish of brittle acidity.
93 Points Drink to 2016-2020 Jeremy Oliver

It’s always interesting doing the Buring Clare and Eden twins at the same time, and I’ll be doing the same with Leonay this vintage too as for the first time in over a decade there’s a release from each region. Generally I’m an Eden man but this vintage I ummmed and ahhhed a bit - initially being very taken with Eden, then liking the Clare, and then finally back to giving Eden the nod. It’s pretty and perfumed with rose oil and fennel on top of fresh lime and mineral. Juicy, fresh and fine boned with excellent pure (but very strong) acidity and a lengthy lime juice finish. It’s a racy style and needs a bit more time in bottle to show its best.
