Colour is an intense purple with crimson hues. A lovely tight wine with aromas of praline and violets, the nose shows peppery Shiraz, raspberry and plum fruit aromas against a background of fragrant, nutty oak. A medium bodied to full bodied wine with sweet raspberry and plum fruit flavours contributing to the rich mid palate. Liquorice and pepper and vanilla coconut oak, sweet and perfumed, very syrupy and very soft, fine and supple tannins provide structure for the immeasurably long finish. "Lovely complex nose of big ripe fruit and oak aromas with barrel-ferment characters. Lovely intense sweet fruit flavours; lots of oak but is an integral part of the wine. Excellent length. This wine was matured for 15 months in a mixture of seasoned and new American and French oak hogsheads.
Colour: Deep red.
Nose: Blackberry and raspberry fruit, charry, chocolatey oak with lifted pepper and clove nuances. Palate: True to the nose, the Limestone Ridge is a medium to full bodied wine with sweet blackberry and raspberry fruit on the palate, with darker chocolate notes, finishing with lengthy, fine tannins. - Lindemans

The 24 hectare Limestone Ridge Vineyard in Coonawarra was planted in 1967 and is named because it is located directly above a ridge of limestone which forms the 'backbone' of Coonawarra's famous Terra Rossa soil. The soil depth is particularly shallow over the limestone base and results in an exceptionally well drained, low yielding vineyard. The resulting wine is a Coonawarra classic, with rich, peppery fruit, integrated oak and a superb structure built for cellaring.
 
Lindemansis the culmination of more than 150 years of winemaking experience and the Coonawarra trio (Pyrus, St George and Limestone Ridge) remains faithful to Dr Henry J Lindeman's impeccable winemaking principles. Individually each wine is a distinguished example of its particular variety or style, while collectively they are a unique range which illustrates the capabilities of Coonawarra for producing some of Australia's greatest red wines.
