Winery: St Hallett Region: Barossa Valley Variety: Semillon Sauvignon Blanc Your Wine Guy says: St Hallett Poacher’s Blend is a reliably high-quality (particularly for the price) Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blend. The Poachers Blend shows lovely fresh tropical fruit characters combining with some more delicate citrus fruit notes on the nose. A nice medium bodied white that shows a lot of flavour, well balanced with a crisp acidity and flavours that persist on the palate. 90 Points YWG The winemaker says: Colour: Pale straw yellow with a subtle green hue Nose: The nose is brimming full of tropical fruit aromas of passionfruit, melon, pineapple with underlying lime and grassy aromas, as well as hints of lime citrus. Palate: Full flavoured and generous, the palate exhibits an array of fruit flavours that persist over the whole length of the palate, finishing with a twist of lime. The slightly phenolic backbone provides structure and mouth feel, which is balanced by zingy crisp acidity. –St Hallett Wines Winery/Label Information: In order to maintain consistency, grapes for this wine are sourced from many varied sites throughout the Barossa and Eden Valley’s, with nearly all of St Hallett’s growers contributing some fruit for this wine.
