27 October 2011 - The Jimmy Watson Trophy has its 50th anniversary tonight. The Winner of this year's and the 50th Jimmy Watson Trophy is the Glaetzer-Dixon Mon Père Shiraz 2010 - Congratulations to Nick and his team in Tasmania, what a great result for a new brand only a few years old and also a great result for the Tasmanian wine industry - who would have thought a Tasmanian Shiraz would take home the Jimmy Watson Trophy?!?

19 August 2011 - Wombat Crossing owner and vigneron Ian Napier has just won the Trophy and Top Gold Medal for Best 100% Hunter Valley Dry Red with his 2009 Hermit's Block Shiraz at the Hunter Valley Wine Show.
Congratulations Ian on your first Trophy, fantastic result.
Wombat Crossing winemaker Jeff Byrne (who also happens to be winemaker at Audrey Wilkinson Wines) has also been awarded the Hunter Valley Wine Industry's Rising Star of the Year 2011 and picked up 2 Trophies at the Hunter Wine Show. Congratulations Jeff.
