Your Wine Guy says:
Good fruit coats the palate and there is a slight creamy texture too. Very easy to drink dry white, great with light seafood and/or pasta dishes.
92 Points YWG Drink to 2013
The winemaker says:
Harvesting started roughly 2 weeks earlier than average, due not so much to a hot summer, but rather because of the very mild winter and spring climate.
Quantity was within the norm and the splendidly sunny days, together with the important temperature gradients between warm days and cool nights immediately prior to starting the harvest, have produced a perfect ripening in terms of both sugars and tannins. The ideal climatic conditions have also protected the grapes from parasites and diseases.
Colour: Bright straw yellow in colour.
Nose: The bouquet expresses green notes of the vine, sweetened by acacia flowers.
Palate: The taste is dry and fresh, franc and decisive, harmonious. Elegant and persistent, it leaves the palate with a wide, full and sapid taste.
Winery Information:
Corte Giara is an innovative project, started in 1989 by the Allegrini family and a selected group of grape growers in Valpolicella, the renowned winemaking district in Veneto, in north-eastern Italy. Corte Giara’s philosophy is to deliver high value wines, made for everyday drinking, with a modern and stylish appeal, that are true to their roots, as well as eclectic.
The Allegrini family has played a leading role in the history of Fumane and of Valpolicella since the 16th century and has passed on the culture of wine-making from generation to generation. Notarial records reveal that the family played a prominent role in the local community as one of the most important land-owners, involved in agricultural work and local traditions. – Allegrini Estates
